The Joys and Shapes of Autistic Play- Online Launch
Hey pals!
I hope you don’t mind me sliding into your inbox for a wee not-proper-newsletter to share my upcoming online launch event for my new publication on Wednesday 28th May 18:00-19:00. It’s going to be a pretty low key affair with me chatting a little about the work before facilitating a “Stim Show and Tell” where you will be invited to share a stim you are currently enjoying or something playful or sensory from your life. (This will of course, be completely optional and you are welcome to join in whatever capacity works for you).
I’m very excited to put this work out in the world and wanted to take a moment to mark it with something gentle and playful. It would be wonderful to be joined by any other play minded, play curious, autistic and autism adjacent folks.
A little about the publication:
"The Joys and Shapes of Autistic Play is a new publication from artist, play worker and autistic person Max Alexander (also know as Play Radical). It is a piece of work intended to give an affirming, non-pathologised and joyful perspective on autistic play and is informed by Max's decade-ish experiences of play with and alongside hundreds of autistic folks."
The event is free but there are sliding scale tickets available which include purchase of a print copy of the publication (it will also be available digitally). If you would like a print copy but the cost is prohibitive to you please get in touch and I will sort that out.
